NU Chapter East of Oklahoma
About Us

Q. WHAT IS DKG?

A. Delta Kappa Gamma (DKG) is a society that was formed 1929 at the Faculty Women’s Club at the University of Texas in Austin. The founders felt that there was a need for women educators and administrators, at all levels of education, to be supported in preparing for and continuing in their profession. DKG has now grown to internationally, with chapters all over the world.

Q. WHO IS CHAPTER NU?

A. We are the local chapter serving the Washington, Osage and Nowata counties of Oklahoma.

Q. WHAT DO WE DO?

A. Members meet once a month from September through May to provide support and personal growth opportunities. We also work on local community projects, as well as support our DKG International projects. We have speakers at our programs on topics that relate to education or needs of the community. We enjoy the fellowship of each other and like to have fun!

Q. WHO CAN BE A MEMBER?

A. Members can be any woman who holds a position in a school (administrator, teacher, para-professional, secretary, etc.) A member can be employed in a public, private, charter, online school, daycare or retired educator.

Q. DO YOU HAVE TO BE A MEMBER TO ATTEND MEETINGS?

A. If you are an educator who would like to come to a meeting, we would love to have you come. You do NOT have to be a member. Coming to see one of our programs is a great way to network and learn interesting information about education and our community. Click here to see our program schedule.
